Fall wine colored kisses

(F21 Bralette/ Tail Tiered Skirt/ JC Platforms/ Vintage Feather & Dangling Earrings/ Statement Ring purchased from travels to Barcelona/ Michael Kors Oversized Mens Watch)

Fall is officially here..therefore it is that time to bring out the wine color lipstick **Kisses** I saw this tiered skirt on nastygal.com months ago, but all the size smalls were sold out. I came across it again at one of my favorite local boutiques, and of course with my luck there were only size mediums left. But guess what? That wasn't going to stop me this time. I'm a gal of alterations so I took this to my tailor and she did her best..although I may need to come back to have her take it up some more. Oh! The battles with my seamstress but that's another story..although I do appreciate all their hard-work.

The Best Accessory....

SMILE!!! :)

Meow prints & cut out tops

(Dreamtime Leopard Maxi Dress Via Freepeople.com)
(Via Nastygal)

(Rachel Zoe Panther Halter Gown Via Bloomindales)

(Cut out top/ Cat print high waisted, wide leg pants; both purchased at local boutique/ Santee Alley wedges/ F21 earrings/ Michael Kors Mens Oversized Watch)

I die for cute pieces with amazing details. I find it super sexy when there is a subtle element of surprise to an outfit. The front looks like just a basic tank, but from the back there's the cut-out details...Pretty amaze-balls if you ask me:) Love, love, love animal print everything. They serve as a classic wardrobe piece for every season...perfect for this ongoing battle going from summer to fall. My advice-NEVER throw out your animal prints!

Frank Ocean-Thinking About You

Frank Ocean - Thinking About You (music video) from High5Collective on Vimeo.

Yes, of course
I remember, how could I forget?
How you feel?
And though you were my first time
A new feel
It won't ever get old, not in my soul
Not in my spirit, keep it alive
We'll go down this road
'Til it turns from color to black and white

Or do you not think so far ahead?
'Cause I been thinkin' 'bout forever

Seen a lot of postings of this track on FB and I am absolutely in love with it. Was told to watch out for this talented man months ago when he released his mixtape in March and wow!!! Now on heavy rotation!! I must say I am impressed. Frank Ocean has the ability to paint a picture with his lyrical content. It's pure poetry. You can literally see everything that's happening and feel the emotions running through you, and I haven't got that from music in a long time. The ability to FEEL is such a beautiful thing..because many people just don't allow themselves to open up and show what is really underneath all that jazz. So my point is my friends..Looking good and fancy is great..but remember that what lies underneath it all matters the MOST!! You ever been with that hot dude or chick at first glance, but as time went on realized there was no substance? And you're thinking "How did that happen?" lol! Or dated someone where you knew how you felt for him/her BUT never knew what they were feeling because they had a hard time giving any reassurance, so... when it ended, you're left with all these unanswered questions just because they lacked the ability to really FEEL and EXPRESS any emotions. I'm sure we've all been there. and well..Mister Frank Ocean knows all about it. My advice for the day..key word=SELFLESSNESS! Try to understand what the other person is feeling. Give someone a hug today and SHOW how much you love them. Everyone wants to feel validated and special!! SPREAD LOVE!! And don't forget to LOVE YOURSELF FIRST!!

Flipmode Squad brought down the house..sipping on some patron and spraying some champagne.

A friend of mine signed to SoSoDef invited me to Perez Hilton's VMAs weekend Charity event for GLSEN August 27. Fighting through an exhausting day, I mustered the strength to grab the tickets and make a last minute stop to the Wiltern Theater. Nothing beats live music, and a little mainstream variety never hurt anyone. Natalia Kills and Michelle Branch also performed but I didn't get a chance to take photos of them. Apparently everyone got the memo to wear black..hehe But hey, black is always classy! Always a pleasure and super humbling to support great causes. I believe we all have the power to make a difference..make an impact whether its on a micro or macro level..just dive into your strengths & do whatever it is you do to the best of your ability whenever you can, and even if it just changes one life,it still made a difference.

Transitioning Seasons

(Knit sweater dress/ HM skirt/ AA Bandeau/ F21 feather earrings/ Michael Kors Mens Oversized Watch/ Jeffrey Campbell platforms)

The weather has been awfully strange in Southern California, leaving me with confusion of what to wear according to to the forecast. With bipolar weather this weekend reaching a high 80's to then being overturned with clouds, rain, lightning, and thunderstorms..it had me freaking out that 2012 is nearly approaching.ha! Feeling some of the gloom in the weather, I chose an earth tone shredded knit I found on the sale rack at a local boutique. Sadly, it was misplaced and NOT on sale, but still worthy enough for me to reach into my pockets:)

A Decade Later..Remembering 9/11

Tonight, I light a candle not only for the lives lost on 9/11, but for Americans whom were all affected by the tragic events of 9/11. Although it's a decade later, like much of you, I vividly remember exactly where I was at and the shock I felt when witnessing what seemed so surreal that day. I always wonder about the many stories that go unheard when such a tragedy occurs, so I pay tribute to each and every life affected, for NO life was lost in vain. I pray for all the lives lost..I pray for the people whose lives were changed forever because they lost a loved one in the tragedy.. I pray for the heros who risked their lives to save another..I SALUTE ALL THE HEROS AND HEROINES OF AMERICA!!

To be FREE

(Free People maxi skirt/ Vintage top/ F21 earrings/ Wood ring from trip to Vietnam/ Michael Kors Mens Oversized Watch)

There's something about this maxi skirt that makes me just want to throw up my hair and blast some "Reckoner" by Radiohead, and just dance with absolutely no technique or choreography...but just move to the rhythm of the music and twirl to the flow of my skirt, and feel FREE!!!

Still Summer Lovin'

(Photo via Nastygal.com)

(Crochet dress/ UO backchain tank top/ Boots purchased in Barcelona/ F21 floppy hat/ Independent artist handmade feather clip)

I'm having a little trouble letting go of Summer so who says I can't rock a summer dress in the middle of Sept? Mother nature is still gracing us with some rays of sunshine so I'm taking full advantage of sporting my tan before it fades away into fall. oh!(excuse the tan lines)..oops! hehe I saw this dress in a little local boutique and fell in love with the backless piece. It is completely see through but that never stops a fashion junkie like me to figure out how to put a lovely ensemble together. Found an UO tank top with chains in the back to throw some edge on this oh so feminine dress. Luckily it was long enough to be used as a slip, so I safety pinned the bad boys together and voila..everything's nice and tucked away!
